We are so grateful to the Idaho Community Foundation for helping us replace the front door to make the building more accessible; to the Keveren Foundation for helping us upgrade the computer lab; and to the Bower’s Charitable Trust for helping us purchase a new book tower for our chapter book collections and the fabulous new rug by the front desk. Come see what’s new at the Hansen Community Library.

Hotspots are Here
We now have three mobile hotspots for loan. Patrons must be in good standing at the library and complete a use agreement. Hotspots are available for one week, which can be renewed if there is not a waiting list.
Funds for this project were provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) through the America Rescue Plan Act and were administered by the Idaho Commission for Libraries ARPA Learn/Earn Grant.

Wifi Expansion
A new outdoor access point was added to the south side of the Library to provide coverage throughout the Hansen Community Center. Funding for this expansion was provided by the American Library Association’s Libraries Transforming Communities: Focus on Small and Rural Libraries Initiative. As part of this grant, the Hansen Community Library partnered with the Kimberly-Hansen Police Department to lead discussions about vaping and alcohol usage at the Hansen High School in September. Students in the 8th grade health class created anti-vaping posters that were displayed at the High School, Community Library and Hansen City Hall during Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week an anti-drug campaign in late October.
